500g Freshly Picked Chocolate Habanero
These chillies will be picked and shipped fresh using a next day service. Chocolate Habanero (AKA Congo Black, Dark Habanero, Jamaican Hot Chocolate, Black Habanero, Senegal Hot Chocolate, or Cuban Habanero to name a few) can best be described as a Scotch Bonnet on steroids. This chocolate-brown ripening chilli is in the same family as the bonnet (Capsicum chinense) and shares similar characteristics. They're fruity and sweet however, Chocolate Habanero is described as having an 'earthier' flavour. It's approximately 450,000 to 577,000 SHU. They're often compared in heat to the Red Savina Habanero but the website Pepperscale.com says "the mildest chocolate (around 450,000 SHU) will always be hotter than the mildest Red Savina (350,000 SHU)." This is an ideal pepper for making hot sauces, a Mexican mole sauce or how about dried and used as an alternative to chipotle in a mega-hot rub.
